Regarding the Determination for Anti-dumping Investigation for Hot-Rolled Products of Carbon Steel or Alloy Steel in Korea.
February 25, 2026
The Japan Iron and Steel Federation
Chairman
Tadashi IMAI
On February 23, as a result of an anti-dumping investigation, the Korea Trade Commission (KTC) determined to recommend the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) of Korea to implement anti-dumping measures for hot-rolled products of carbon steel or alloy steel from Japan.
During the anti-dumping investigation, the Japanese steel industry claimed that exports of hot-rolled products of carbon steel or alloy steel from Japan have caused no injury to the domestic steel industry in Korea.
We believe that it is inappropriate and very regrettable that the KTC has rejected our statements and concluded that the domestic industry in Korea has been injured by imports of hot-rolled products of carbon steel or alloy steel from Japan.
The Japanese steel industry will carefully study this decision and determine a proper course of action in preparation for the final determination by the MOFE of Korea.
