Regarding the Determination to Continue the Anti-dumping Measures on Grain-Oriented Flat-Rolled Steel Products in China.

On July 22, as a result of the sunset review investigation, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China determined to continue the anti-dumping measures on Grain-Oriented Flat-Rolled Products from Japan.

During the sunset review proceedings, the Japanese steel industry has claimed that revocation of the anti-dumping measures is not likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of injury to the domestic industry in China.

We believe that it is inappropriate and very regrettable that the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China has rejected our statements and concluded to continue the anti-dumping measures on Grain-Oriented Flat-Rolled Steel Products from Japan.

The Japanese steel industry will carefully study this decision and consider a proper course of action.
