Regarding
the Determination to Continue the Anti-dumping Measures on Quenched and tempered steel plate in Australia
October 7,2019
Yoshihisa Kitano
Chairman
The Japan Iron and Steel Federation
On
October 2, the government of Australia determined to continue the anti-dumping measures on Quenched and Tempered Steel Plate imported to Australia from Japan as a result of the continuation inquiry.
During the continuation inquiry proceedings, the Japanese steel industry has claimed that the revocation of the anti-dumping measures is not likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to the Australian steel industry.
We believe that it is inappropriate and regrettable that the government of Australia has rejected our statements and concluded to continue the anti-dumping measures.
The Japanese steel industry will carefully study this decision and determine an appropriate course of action.
