Regarding the Final Determination for Anti-dumping Investigation for Carbon and Alloy Steel Cut-to-Length Plate in the United States.

On May 5, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) determined as a result of an anti-dumping investigation that the domestic steel industry in the United States has been materially injured by imports of carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate from Japan.

During the anti-dumping investigation by ITC, the Japanese steel industry stated that exports of carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate from Japan have caused no injury to the domestic industry in the United States.

We believe that it is unjust and extremely regrettable that ITC has rejected our statements and concluded that the domestic industry in the United States has been injured by imports of carbon and alloy steel cut-to-length plate from Japan.

The Japanese steel industry will carefully study this decision and determine a proper course of action.
